Caol Ila 18 Year Old is a beautifully balanced expression of the core Caol Ila range. The Caol Ila 18 Year Old distillery is located on the island of Islay, near Askaig Harbour, overlooking the strait between Islay and Jura, and was founded in 1846. Its name comes from the Gaelic word for ‘Sound of Islay’. Caol Ila has a rich malt flavour with distinctive smokiness and phenolics, but not too much peat. Further ageing has softened the impact of the phenols, resulting in a mature and very smooth Islay malt.
