DESCRIPTION

Uigeadail (pronounced 'Oog-a-dal') is Gaelic for “a dark, mysterious place”. Named after the distillery's water source, this whisky is a blend of sweetness, spice and deep smokiness. The peaty waters of Loch Uigeadail give this whisky its smoky tones, while maturation in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks gives it a rich, warm flavour – perfect for a dramatic stormy night. But the real secret behind Ardbeg Uigeadail's success is a unique cask method that combines the deep smokiness of bourbon-fed American oak with the delicious, raisin-like character of Oloroso sherry casks.

Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Peaty notes with a hint of black sugar, freshly ground espresso beans, grain notes and a subtle hint of tar.

- Taste: Leading with sweet ripe fruit and black forest honey with malt. Then there are strong peat and smoked barley flavors.

- Finish: Long, caramel and malt weave through peat smoke, brown sugar and just a touch of freshly brewed espresso before fading away.
