DESCRIPTION
Mortlach 16 Year Old was first released in July 2018, Mortlach 16 Year Old is part of a new range, replacing the old range. This whisky stands out for its rich and complex style, matured for at least 16 years in two types of oak casks, first-fill and refill sherry casks, giving it a distinctive sherry flavour. Using the unique "2.81 distillation" method, Mortlach 16 Year Old brings a powerful and deep experience, true to its nickname "Beast of Dufftown".
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Sweet with honey and red fruits. Characteristic herbal aromas, musk, rosemary and baking spices.
- Taste: Strong flavours with figs, white chocolate and cardamom, with a slight saltiness, orange peel, almonds and nutmeg.
- Aftertaste: Quite long with the sweetness of dried fruit, cocoa and chocolate, mixed with mint, coffee, tobacco leaves and licorice.
