DESCRIPTION
Lagavulin 8 Year Old was launched in 2016 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Lagavulin distillery. It is a tribute to Alfred Barnard, the 19th century whisky writer who tasted an 8 year old version of Lagavulin and described it as “exceptionally good.” It quickly became a favourite thanks to its robust and distinctive Islay flavours.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Strong peat smoke, with fresh lemon, white pepper and malt.
- Taste: Rich smoke, with lemon, green apple and a touch of vanilla sweetness.
- Aftertaste: Long with a smoky finish, lightly peppered and a touch of sea salt.
