Lagavulin 12 Year Old is a core release in the Lagavulin distillery range, known for its powerful and deeply smoky style of Islay whisky. Distilled in used American oak casks, this release stands out for its distinctive smoky flavour and natural strength.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: A strong characteristic peat smoke, mixed with sea salt and notes of ripe fruit such as green apple and pear, along with a touch of vanilla and spice.
- Taste: Full-bodied with the salty and peat smoke typical of Islay, followed by a light sweetness of honey and caramel, along with a touch of spice and nuts.
- Aftertaste: Long, warm with a strong lingering smoky flavour, accompanied by a light sweetness of dried fruit and a touch of black pepper.
