The Glenrothes distillery was founded in 1878 by James Gordon and Peter Weir in the Speyside region of Scotland. Glenrothes quickly became renowned for its use of Sherry seasoned oak casks to mature its whisky, which helped to create the rich and deep flavour profiles we see in our products today.

Throughout its history, Glenrothes has focused on the use of Sherry casks, which have been a key element in defining the style of the distillery. Glenrothes 18 Year Old is part of the continued development and commitment of the distillery to creating high quality products. This release has been developed to reflect the long maturation and balance of the whisky, highlighting the care and experience that has gone into selecting the oak casks that have been used for Sherry.
