DESCRIPTION
Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve is a unique version of the Glenlivet brand, featuring a special maturation process in French oak casks. Glenlivet was one of the first distilleries to adopt this method, using Limousin oak from the Dordogne region of France, where oak is traditionally used to make Cognac. With larger oak casks, the whisky has less contact with the oak, allowing for a slower and more subtle maturation process, resulting in a rich and unmistakable flavour.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: A combination of ripe fruit, vanilla and honey, with a light oak and warm spice.
- Taste: Sweet apple, pear and caramel, with a blend of French oak, with a light spice and dried fruit.
- Aftertaste: Long, warm and smooth, with a combination of oak, vanilla and light spice.
