DESCRIPTION

Cointreau is an orange liqueur produced in Saint-Barthélemy-d’Anjou, France. Cointreau’s main ingredient is sweet oranges harvested from Spain, Brazil, Haiti and Macedonia. It is made from natural ingredients such as orange peel, sugar and alcohol. Cointreau has a sweet taste and a fresh orange flavor, making it a top choice for cocktails.

The Cointreau Distillery was founded in 1849 by Adolphe Cointreau, along with his partner and brother Edouard-Jean Cointreau. After much experimentation, in 1875, the first bottle of Cointreau was produced and sold. Every year, about 13 million bottles of Cointreau are produced and exported to more than 150 countries around the world, accounting for 90% of total production.
