Bushmills 16 Year Old undergoes a complex and careful maturation process. Initially, the wine is matured for over 15 years in two different types of casks: Oloroso Sherry casks and Bourbon casks, which impart rich oak flavors, dried fruit flavors from the sherry, and sweet vanilla flavors from the Bourbon. After this period, the wine is transferred to Port wine casks for 9 months, adding depth and complexity with rich fruit notes and a breath of red berries. The total maturation time is a minimum of 16 years, ensuring the full development of flavors and aromas.

Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Complex and seductive aroma, with notes of honey, prunes, roasted almonds, and oak.

- Taste: Sweet honey, malt, and vanilla, mixed with dried fruit notes such as plums, apricots, and a light spice from the oak.
- Aftertaste: Long, smooth aftertaste with a combination of vanilla, honey and rich flavors of red berries.
