DESCRIPTION
Octomore 10.1 was distilled from Scottish barley in 2013 by Bruichladdich Distillery. This is the whisky that is considered the benchmark of the Octomore 10 range. Matured in used American oak casks for 5 years, Octomore 10.1 shows structure and presence. The distillation process is done with consideration and patience, and the high peat level of 107 PPM (Parts Per Million) gives it a rich smoky character.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Lightly smoky vanilla and caramel, combined with candied apple, gooseberries and marzipan.
- Taste: Barley sugar, dry earth and a touch of rubber, charred oak and pineapple.
- Finish: Sweet from the soft candy, rich peat smoke.
