Balvenie French Oak is a single malt finished in previously held wine casks from the Charentes vineyards of France.

Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine made from unfermented grape juice, then aged with Cognac eau-de-vie. Pineau is also found as a house product in the surrounding Deau-Serves and Vendee regions.

Balvenie US Brand Ambassador, Lome Cousin, suggested Malt Master David C.Steward MBE explore these casks while on a family trip where he enjoyed an unforgettable aperitif.

This is The Balvenie’s first release to explore French Oak. Pineau is similar to Cognac in production process and flavor, let us take advantage of this wonderful flavor and transform it into the most premium notes.

Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: A perfect blend of lotus and geranium with the scent of meadow grass and apple peel.
- Taste: Invigorating flavors of lemon and grapefruit peel combined with the delicate sweetness of fruity candied hawthorn and spices from ginger.
- Finish: Lots of citrus and honey, with a touch of melon in the mix.
