Balvenie 12 Year Old Double Wood, Balvenie is ranked in the top 10 of Scotland's highest quality Single Malts and is the only Single Malt distillery in Scotland that still grows its own barley & malts from its own barley. Balvenie is made in a closed process according to its own recipe, to create the unique, seductive flavor of pure Single malt.

THE BALVENIE 12 YEAR OLD DOUBLEWOOD

Balvenie DoubleWood is aged for at least 12 years in traditional Whiskey casks and new American oak casks for the first batch of alcohol, then transferred to Spanish oak Sherry casks for another nine months and finally transferred to large oak barrels called "tuns" for 3-4 months to allow the alcohol to blend together.

Balvenie DoubleWood malt whisky is characterized by being aged in two different types of wooden casks. At each stage, the whisky inherits different special qualities to bring a single malt whisky. Traditional casks soften the flavour and add sophistication, sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour, the final few months in the cask help the whisky blend harmoniously.

Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet fruity aromas and Oloroso sherry, layers of honey and vanilla.
- Taste: Smooth and mellow with a perfect combination of flavours: gentle sweetness, spicy cinnamon and delicate sherry.
