DESCRIPTION

Angostura 1919 is a rum with a unique story. In 1932, hundreds of charred rum barrels were found in the Trinidad Government Rum Warehouse after a terrible fire. These barrels had been filled in 1919 and had been aged for 13 years. Named after the year it was stored in the barrels, Angostura 1919 is a pale gold rum, aged in used bourbon oak barrels and distilled in Angostura’s multi-column continuous still. It was created using unique blending techniques developed by the Fernandes family in the 19th century, the same blend that was salvaged from the barrels that burned in the 1932 fire.

Angostura 1919 has a complex aroma of oak, tropical spices, vanilla, honey and dried fruits, creating an enchanting charm. On the palate, Angostura 1919 offers a distinct oak flavor, combined with tropical spices, sweet vanilla, a touch of honey and rich dried fruit flavors. The finish is long and smooth with the perfect combination of oak, honey and dried fruit flavors, leaving a deep and memorable impression.
