DESCRIPTION
Launched in the second half of 2016, Angostura 1787 is a premium 15-year-old rum from Trinidad and Tobago. The name “1787” refers to the year the first sugar mill was established at Lapeyrouse Estate. This rum is characterised by its deep colour and rich, robust flavour, having been aged for at least 15 years in toasted oak barrels. Angostura 1787 is best enjoyed neat, for true rum lovers.
Angostura 1787 has a seductive aroma of pastries, apricots and rum-soaked sultanas, combined with a generous dose of cinnamon bark. The light smokiness from the burnt oak bursts onto the tongue, quickly softened by the rich sweetness of dried fruit. The finish is long with honey, crunchy brown sugar and a touch of new leather.
