DESCRIPTION
Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz is a standout wine from Penfolds, often referred to as the “Baby Grange” as it is produced in a similar way to the famous Grange. Bin 389 was launched in 1960, and from the very beginning it was known for its ability to combine two of Penfolds’ signature grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes were sourced from the best vineyards in South Australia, then matured in both new and used oak barrels.
The wine is deep ruby red in colour, with aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry, along with notes of oak and spice. On the palate, the rich fruit flavours are combined with firm tannins, with notes of chocolate, black pepper and vanilla, creating a long and complex finish.
